Break OLD Habits of Self Sabotage when you have a bad day with food & get back on Track!
Everyone struggles from time to time on any Weight Loss plan! Everyone gets off track & messes up! If your Human this will happen to you.. So... the most important thing that has helped me lose over 138 pounds is to get back on track immediately!!!
If you get a scratch on your new car do you take a hammer to it and finish it off?? No!! you get the little scratch fixed and move on!!
BREAK the habit of saying "Oh I messed up the whole day now I might as well keep eating" For example... I went to a Dinner and planned on staying on my program but there were so many delicious desserts, macaroni & cheese, macaroni salads, you name it, it was there... So I started off with a small plate of just a few things I liked. I felt satisfied but I WANTED more... so I went back and just started eating whatever I wanted. Macaroni and Cheese, Baked Beans, Cheesecake, and I ate it so fast I don't even remember what else I ate to even track it!
Then once I was literally so full and feeling sick it felt like I woke up and realized what I was doing and said "oh no what have I done???!!?" Then I felt upset and fat and OUT OF CONTROL because I was eating like (what I call) a Pig on Wheels!!
After Dinner was over and my Mom gave me a few plates of leftovers to take home... Hours later I'm home and I started thinking about the extra food in my refrigerator. It was calling me!!! I was no longer stuffed and I thought.. Hmmm I already cheated today so I might as well go eat those leftovers before the day is over. I went down to the fridge opened the door and looked at the food and realized "I am ONLY hurting myself if I eat this.. I've already consumed probably 2000 calories more than I should have..
Why do I want to add more? Why am I torturing myself with stupid food!?! It's JUST FOOD!! I then realized I was not helping myself by eating more but I was hurting myself. If you look at it that way it will help you in those moments where you want to over eat!
I took the leftover food (and don't tell my Mom) but I threw it all in the trash! After I threw it away I felt proud and accomplished.
I know it was a waste of food but why have it sitting there if it's going to call me every 5 minutes?? If I was strong enough to just say no that would have been one thing but "that day" in particular I just wasn't... and some days its just harder than others! So...I got back ON TRACK, grabbed some fruit and went to bed. When I got up the next morning I weighed myself and I was only up 1 pound! By the next next that pound was GONE plus a few ounces! Such a HUGE tip for anyone who is trying to lose weight is to GET BACK ON TRACK and your weight loss will continue!! Did something similar happen to you? What did you do? Plan what you will do next time!!!

Frustrated With the Scale? Three Simple Tips to END Frustration with the Scale before a Weigh in!
Tip #1 - Have you tracked everything? Did you track that one fry you ate and the one bite of ice-cream? If I have one bite of something I count it as 1 Point. That way I'm always tracking everything and all is not lost if I have a bite of something. If I'm out to dinner and I make the best choice that I can on the menu but I don't know what the points are I take a picture of my meal so I can do the math on the points later. If you have a cell phone which most of us do, use it!! Tracking is SO important!! It's so easy to forget what you've eaten!
Tip #2 - This tip applies to the day before your weigh in. Say your weigh in is on Friday, you don't want to use 35 of your 49 week allowance the night before. Why?? Because extra food carries extra sodium or just the heaviness of the food and you could get on the scale and be up and this can be very frustrating!! Save all those points for another day. This only applies to the day before your weigh in. This will help you avoid a frustrating weigh in.
Tip #3 - Be careful of Sodium! I had a friend who was really excited to start her program and go to her Weigh in. She called me after her weigh in and she was very upset and she said "I gained 3 pounds"! I was surprised and asked her what was on her food journey the day before her weigh in. She said that her dinner the night before was canned sour krout and 2 hot dogs! That was over 1000 milligrams of sodium!! The next week she weighed in and she was down 5 pounds. Was she really down 5 pounds in one week? Probably not... she just took off the water weight she was up from the week before plus the weight she would have lost. Soups and pickles and canned vegetables all normally have a lot of sodium. So watch your sodium especially the day before weigh in and you will be much less frustrated with the scale

Willpower - Build your Willpower for Successful Weight Loss!!
The Definition of Willpower is the ability of a person to exert his/her will over the inhibitions of their body or self
Willpower doesn't come easy.. you have to build it up! It's like a muscle that needs to be built up! Every single time you go make a good choice or refuse to eat something that you shouldn't that muscle gets stronger.
For example, when I was more than 100 pounds overweight I felt like I had no willpower.. Every time I went to an outing or a Dinner or closed the refrigerator and said "no I'm not eating that!!" my willpower grew. It TRULY works that way.
I hear a lot of people say "I have no willpower." The thing is, you do!! You just have to work on it! Every single time you make a good choice you will get stronger and have the ability to lose weight successfully. Is it easy?? NO! but once you do it over and over it DOES become easy I promise!!
When it's late at night and that ice cream sundae is calling you and your stomach is growling and you have that "overwhelming" feeling of "oh my God I have to eat" close that freezer and think of your body eating away at those pounds. Every time I've had that overwhelming feeling to eat and I refused I wake up in the morning feeling STRONGER and thinner! That is the best feeling!! Start building up your willpower! You can do it!!!

Weight Loss Tip # 8 - Should you ever have a Cheat Day?
I just wanted to go over the topic of having a "Cheat" day. I know a lot of people like to use one day a week or once a month and just not count anything. In my experience having one cheat day means ruining my work for the whole week. A cheat day could mean 3500 calories which we all know equals a pound. A cheat day for me also means being bloated and feeling gross for about 3 days. I used to do this often and then look back a month later and wonder why I was still at the same weight. 😱
Think about all these things before you decide to do this. It's like spending too much on a credit card and owing the money back.
If your on Weight Watchers you are given plenty of extra points (49) for extra foods and special Dinners and outings.
Don't feel guilty just USE those. If you need to use all 49 just use them. You won't be cheating! Now I never look at the scale the day after I've used a lot of my weekly allowance. You can almost always bet on being up some due to water weight gain. I do myself a favor and don't look at the scale for at least one day. After a day I am usually all the way back down and sometimes "minus" some.
I had to get out of the habit of doing this. It's just not worth it and leaves your weight bouncing around but not ever going down. If your happy with that then that's fine. If not, stick to your points and your weekly allowance and you will continue to lose weight. If I can do it, you can do it!!!

Weight Loss Tip #7 - Don't Deprive yourself!! No.. I mean it!!
Have you ever started a diet before and after a few days or even a week your sick of the taste of "rice cakes" or whatever the diet food that you are eating is? Have you ever done a chocolate shake fast and only drank these delicious creamy shakes until you hate chocolate? These quick and fast weight loss ideas are usually only temporary. I have done these type of quick fixes before and ended up eating the whole house when I was done!! To lose weight you have to make your program work for you! For example, if you're craving a cheeseburger from your favorite restaurant, have it... Just make sure that you find out the calorie information or Weight Watcher points for it and plan for it! If your allowed say 28 points per day and your cheeseburger is 14 points eat lower calorie meals at your other meals so you can still stay within your points for the day. Once you do this a few times you will see that you can still eat your favorite foods not depriving yourself and still losing weight!!
